A Letter from the County Engineer

On behalf of the engineers and staff who dedicate themselves to maintaining and improving Burlington County’s system of roads and bridges, I’m pleased to welcome you to the website of the Burlington County Engineers Office. Inside this site, you’ll find information on such things as our current projects, construction advisories, (major) roadway improvement planning initiatives, future projects, and the Burlington County Planning Board, to name just a few. The staff of this office is committed to improving the lives of the people of Burlington County by continuously improving our roads and bridges, and not just in the traditional sense. We’re always looking for innovative ways to minimize congestion, and promote the health, safety, and welfare of the travelling public. One way we’re doing this is with the use of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies. One advantage of these technologies is that it allows us to coordinate traffic signals and revise traffic signal timings and detection from our office along the county's busiest corridors. In effect, we can be at multiple locations at one time to help keep traffic moving on county roads.

Please visit our website often for the latest construction project updates, and to find out what else your County Engineers Office is doing to help the people of Burlington County catch the "Green Light" to the future.

-Joseph T. Brickley, P.E., County Engineer

Public Information Center, Rancocas Creek Greenway Trail Rt. 130 Crossing

Burlington County, in cooperation with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), is developing a plan to extend the Rancocas Creek Greenway Trail across Route 130 and the Rancocas Creek.

The proposed Route 130 Crossing project aims to connect three Burlington County Parks – Pennington Park in Delanco, Willingboro Lakes Park in Willingboro and the Rainbow Meadow Park in Delran – with fully accessible paths and a safe pedestrian/bicycle crossing of Route 130 and the creek.

The project is currently in the Local Concept Development Phase and planners are seeking to determine a preliminary route for the new trail, including a preferred location to cross Route 130.

A virtual Public Information Meeting about the project will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 5 PM to 7 PM. To join, go to https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/26045427907172... (Meeting ID: 260 454 279 071 72 Passcode B3XV6vb3) .

Members of the public may also dial into and listen to the meeting by calling 877-284-0719. The Conference ID for the meeting is 191 577 417# .

During the meeting, Burlington County officials and engineers will present information about the project, existing conditions and solicit input about various routes and crossing locations under consideration. All members of the public are welcome to attend and ask questions about the project. Written comments may also be submitted for inclusion in the project record.
