Allison Eckel is deputy director of the Burlington County Board of Commissioners. She is also currently serving as the president of the Southern New Jersey County Commissioners Association and as a member of U.S. EPA's Local Government Advisory Board. Her County assignments include Public Safety, Resource Conservation--which includes Parks and Farmland Preservation--and the County Schools. She is also chair of the County's 250th Anniversary Committee and is liaison to Military Affairs and Joint Base MDL.

Allison is a Burlington County native and has resided in Medford with her family since 2005. She is a graduate of Moorestown High School and holds a degree in Geoscience from Franklin & Marshall College and an advanced degree in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College. She works as Executive Vice President of Marketing for a national nonprofit.

Prior to joining the Burlington County Board of Commissioners in 2022, Allison served as a member of the Lenape Regional High School District’s Board of Education and she has spent more than a decade volunteering as a scout leader, den leader, mentor and advisor to various Scouting America units.  She was honored as the 2019 Women Scouter of the Year by the Garden State Council in recognition of her volunteer service and support for the organization and for bringing the first all-girl Scouting America Troop to the Garden State Council. Allison is proud of her two children, Tom and Lilly, who are both Eagle Scouts.

In addition to Scouting, Allison’s history of volunteer service includes work with the Medford Education Foundation, the Medford Township Economic Development Commission, and the Moorestown Fourth of July Parade Committee.

Allison enjoys her work at the county level because she is able to coordinate resources regionally to support healthy citizens, healthy communities, and a healthy environment.
