The Resource Conservation Department recently held two public information sessions to discuss the Southern Regional Trails Study. Burlington County received a Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Transportation and Community Development Initiative (DVRPC, TCDI) grant to study the feasibility of constructing a roughly 50-mile regional trail connecting through portions of Maple Shade, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Evesham, Medford, Shamong, Southampton and Tabernacle Townships, linking municipally owned open space, local schools, and more to Burlington County’s east-west Rancocas Creek Greenway. The County Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to Taylor Design Group (TDG) to investigate potential routes, including County and local rights-of-way, County and Township owned properties, etc. TDG has performed field work and identified opportunities and constraints. The public information sessions included a presentation outlining Burlington County's regional trails initiative and a review of mapping of the initially studied trail routes. Below please find copies of those materials for your perusal. If you have any comments or questions you would like to be considered before the trail route feasibility report is finalized later this year, please send an email to: trails@tdgplanning.com Thank you for your interest in Burlington County’s regional trail network!
