Work is scheduled to start next week on repaving part of Main Street in Riverton.

Pavement milling and overlay work will begin Monday, Aug. 5, on a 0.4-mile section of Main Street, also known as County Route 603, from Broad Street North (CR 543) to Bank Avenue. The work is expected to take about a week to complete.

Traffic will be maintained through the work area, but motorists using the road will likely experience delays and are advised to seek an alternative route.

The work is being done by Black Rock Enterprises LLC, of Old Bridge, and is part of Burlington County’s road resurfacing program.

“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
