The Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Office will travel to schools and community events to help register new voters and answer questions about election procedures.
The non-partisan outreach will begin April 16 at Seneca High School in Tabernacle and will coincide with New Jersey High School Voter Registration Week.
Eligible 18-year-old high school students and 17-year-olds, who will turn 18 before the next election, will have the opportunity to register in advance of the May 14 registration deadline fo the New Jersey Primary. Students will also have opportunities to ask questions and learn more about election regulations and procedures.
The New Jersey Primary will be held on June 4. Early voting will be held between May 29 and June 2.
“Our nation’s democracy is strongest when all our citizens are engaged and participate in it,” said Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Dawn Marie Addiego. “We’re reaching out to our county’s youngest eligible voters to give them the opportunity to register and understand voting procedures and responsibilities.”
In addition to the April 16 trip to Seneca, the Superintendent of Elections Office also plans to team with the Burlington County Clerk’s Office and its mobile outreach team to register eligible voters and answer questions about elections at the following schools or special events:
April 21: Burlington County Earth Fair at Historic Smithville Park, 803 Smithville Road, Eastampton
April 22: Medford Leas, 1 Medford Leas Way, Medford
April 27: Burlington County Farmers Market, 500 Centerton Road, Moorestown
May 4: Palmyra Day
May 29: Willingboro High School
June 6: Burlington County Senior Expo, The Mason Village Fellowship Center, 1114 Oxmead Road, Burlington Township
June 12: Northern Burlington County Regional High School
“My office is looking for additional locations and events to visit and conduct outreach. We can also send voter registration forms to organizations and schools that want to make them available for their eligible members or students to register,” said Addiego.

The Superintendent of Elections Office also continues to have staff at the County Corner site in the Moorestown Mall on Saturdays to register voters and provide other assistance related to voting and election procedures, including vote-by-mail and early voting options, updating voter registration information and removing a deceased relative from the voter registration list. New voting machines that will be deployed at polling locations on Election Day will also be displayed on Saturdays at the mall site to give voters opportunities to inspect and familiarize themselves with the new technology.
“The new machines are easy to use, and many Burlington County voters will be familiar with them from early voting,” said Addiego. “For voters who haven’t participated in the early voting, the machines will be new and different, so we wanted to give people opportunities to see them up close and learn how they work so it’s not brand new on Election Day.”
Superintendent of Elections staff will also be present at the County Corner during the mall’s operating hours on the May 14 voter registration deadline day, and the Superintendent of Elections Office at 50 Rancocas Road in Mount Holly will also remain open from 8 AM to 9 PM on that day to accommodate last-minute registrations.
Voter eligibility
An eligible Burlington County voter must be a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years old and a resident of Burlington County for at least 30 days before the election date.
Residents serving a sentence of incarceration due to a conviction for any indictable offense in New Jersey or another state are not eligible.
Eligible voters can register at the Superintendent of Elections Office at 50 Rancocas Street, Mount Holly or online at https://nj.gov/state/elections/voter-registration.shtml . Paper voter registration forms are also available online and can be mailed to the Superintendent of Elections Office.
Eligible voters must register by May 14 to participate in the upcoming June 4 New Jersey Primary Election. To participate in the primary, voters must be declared as either a Democrat or Republican. Unaffiliated voters who wish to participate will be required to change their affiliation to either Democrat or Republican before casting their ballot.
