Calling all foodies. Burlington County’s first Winter Restaurant Week is here!
The weeklong celebration of Burlington County’s restaurants, taverns and other eateries kicked off Sunday with 60 participating restaurants offering a diverse selection of cuisine ranging from pizza and chicken wings, to fine dining, vegan, fusions, gourmet desserts and more.
Now through Sunday, the Burlington County Commissioners, State Senator Troy Singleton and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce will highlight the participating establishments by making visits and posting spotlights about them on social media. Many of the participating restaurants have also created special menus, dishes or discounts to coincide with the week.
“Burlington County has incredible places to eat, and Restaurant Week is our County’s way of celebrating and promoting them,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “You don’t have to travel far for a delicious meal or a fun night out. Restaurant Week is the perfect time to try a new eatery, dish or re-discover a local favorite.”
“Restaurants are important places where friends and family gather to enjoy great food and company so it’s vital for us to support them in any way we can. Restaurant Week provides an opportunity for families and friends to come together and also gives a boost to our local businesses,” added Senator Singleton. “That’s why I’m proud to once again partner with the Burlington County Commissioners and the Chamber to sponsor this important event. It is our collective goal to promote the many great dining choices in Burlington County and encourage people to support restaurants in their own neighborhoods and communities.”
“Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to support Winter Restaurant Week,” said Kristi Howell, the Chamber’s President and CEO. “Our community has such a diverse array of restaurants and cuisines, this is a great opportunity for residents to explore them while supporting the backbone of our county, small businesses. Take a chance, try something new, I know you’ll go back!”
This is the first time Restaurant Week is being held during the winter. The previous three Burlington County Restaurant Week promotions were held once a year in either the fall or summer. Hopson said the event’s rapid growth prompted the County Commissioners and the Board’s partners to expand the event and hold it twice a year.
“We’re thrilled with how many restaurants signed on and the many specials they’ve created for the winter promotion,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Tom Pullion. “There’s a lot of excitement about this week and I’m looking forward to enjoying some great food and drinks.”
