Vikings, scarecrows, circus performers, magicians and more are coming to Historic Smithville Park for the latest Autumn Lands, Burlington County’s celebration of the fall season.
The Autumn Lands festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1 PM to 6 PM at Smithville Park in Eastampton. The free festival features all things Autumn with seasonal foods, music, entertainment and activities for all ages.
“Fall is a fantastic season in Burlington County, and the Autumn Lands festival is a fun day for friends, families and neighbors to come together and enjoy Smithville and its unique mix of natural scenery, art and history, along with the creative talents of many artists and entertainers,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel, the liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation and Parks. “If you enjoy spooky Halloween fun, autumn scenery, music and delicious foods, plan to visit Smithville for the Autumn Lands festival on October 25th.”
Among the featured entertainment and activities planned for this year’s festival is a Dark Carnival Quest, an all-ages, live-action roleplaying game organized by the Pirates of Fortune’s Folly troupe. There will also be a Viking encampment featuring re-enactors and crafts employed by the marauders.
Another popular attraction is the Autumn Winds Gothic Circus Show, which combines circus tricks from around the globe with death-defying stunts that will leave you in awe, or view a selection of spooky silent films and magic lantern shows.
Brave visitors can also venture into Autumn Lands’ Choose Your Own Adventure Maze, and crafters can participate in a make-your-own-corn-husk-doll activity.
Visitors will also get to vote for their favorite scarecrow on display along Park Avenue in Smithville, and enjoy scores of other fall activities, including pumpkin painting, leaf pressing and bonfire s’mores, plus magic shows, craft demonstrations, live music, a beer garden, food trucks and plenty more.

“Autumn Lands is one of the premier events the Burlington County Parks staff organizes as part of its mission to educate and help cultivate the arts in our county,” said Commissioner Eckel. “Be it summer concerts, art exhibits or seasonal festivals, these events entertain, enrich and bring people together. We’re proud to continue to offer this programming and look forward to participating in many of the different activities the Parks staff plan each season.”
