Take a self-guided tour of Historic Smithville Village, including an 1832 home (Visitor Center), the Worker’s House Gallery, and Schoolhouse. Enjoy holiday music from Victorian carolers strolling through the village. Each child attending will receive a take-home craft and can make an ornament for our community tree. Finish your evening with a visit to Mrs. Claus for a story while you relax and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. And don’t forget to bring your letters for Santa!

  19. Explore Drawing with color: Winter foliage with colored pencils

    Warm up your winter with color! Each month a new still life will be set-up and new drawing medium will be explored. Gain skills by completing a drawing using our materials or bring your own. Any artistic level is welcomed. Feel free to drop-in anytime during this 1.5-hour Tuesday 5:30-7pm evening class. Instructor: Leeannwyn Stoner Ms. Stoner is a New Jersey resident, Syracuse University BFA Painting graduate, studied DRAW with sculptor Lawson Smith and is a Hiram Gee Fellowship recipient. She is a working artist and Fine Art instructor, teaching and instilling in her students that drawing is the basis of all creative arts.

    Prerequisites: A camera (digital recommended) and a basic understanding of photography. Come out for a relaxed sunset hike up and around our newest park, Arney’s Mount! With established hardwood forests, mountain overlooks (maybe hills dependng on what you consider mountains), and sprawling fields and meadows. The focus will be on learning some simple techniques, with the goal of capturing more intriguing images. No matter what the location or subject, there is always another way to look at it from another perspective. Meet near the parking lot. Please dress appropriately for the weather and conditions, as we may encounter cold weather, ice, or mud, and we will be hiking through the park.
