Burlington County Health Department announces additional cases of COVID-19. Following directives from the Attorney General’s Office and the New Jersey Department of Health we are issuing COVID-19 case information in a new format.
“The Burlington County Coronavirus Task Force has been notified of two additional deaths caused by Coronavirus Disease,” said Dr. Herb Conaway. “Each loss of life in our community is a tragedy. The fate of our neighbors, family, and friends, lies in the hands of each citizen. All the work that is being done across the country to stop the spread is meaningless unless we follow the social distancing rules to a letter. Failure to comply risks countless lives, and those you love the most. We must not fail.”

CONTACT TRACING CLARIFICATION
Burlington County is actively engaged in contact tracing positive COVID19 cases. The focus is on close contacts, defined as closer than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes, household contacts and those that work in high risk settings such as healthcare workers and long term care facilities. If community exposure has occurred, where a COVID-19 positive person was in close contact with people for an extended period of time, while symptomatic, we will notify the public. Since residents are abiding by the social distancing requirements, we have not run into that issue since our first releases.
