Freeholder Deputy Director Balvir Singh announces fun events this week in Burlington County.


“Join us for the first annual Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival at the Burlington County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 4th,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Balvir Singh, liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation. “We are looking forward to hosting this new event that will showcase gourmet food trucks and our local breweries and wineries here in Burlington County.”

 

Event: Little Sprouts Preschool Gardening Club

Date and Time: Wednesday, May 1, 1:30 PM

Location: Rancocas Nature Center, 794 Rancocas Road, Westampton Township, NJ 08060

In the Garden! Beneficial Insects - This gardening program for preschoolers accompanied by an adult, focuses on gardens and plants, worms, mud, seeds, and work in the garden throughout the spring. Each meeting will focus on a different aspect of gardening. Please dress accordingly. Register online. There is no charge for this program, but participants must be Rancocas Nature Center members. Event: Hump Day After Work Hike

Date and Time: Wednesday, May 1, 5:30 PM

Location: Rancocas Nature Center, 794 Rancocas Road, Westampton Township, NJ 08060

Like to hike, but don’t like doing it alone? Or, do you want to start walking outdoors? Come out for a brisk hike in nature at the perfect time to enjoy Spring’s awakening. We will enjoy the views week to week as the natural world comes alive again. There is no charge for this program, but donations are encouraged. Hikes continue each Wednesday through May. Event: RNC Outdoor Photography Club

Date and Time: Thursday, May 2, 10:00 AM

Event: Mansion Tours

Date and Time: Thursday, May 2, 1:00 PM

Location: Smithville Mansion, 803 Smithville Road, Eastampton Township, NJ 08060

The mansion will open its doors for tours beginning May 2. Tours are approximately 1 hour long. Fees $8.00 Adults, $7.00 Seniors/Student. Group rates available. Event: Addiction Support Group Meeting

Location: Burlington County Agricultural Center, 500 Centerton Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057

The Board of Chosen Freeholders is partnering with Ashley Addiction Treatment to host Addiction Support Group Meetings on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of every month. The individual battling addiction isn’t the only one in need of healing. Parent & Family Connection is a safe, professionally-facilitated resource for family members and parents/guardians that have a child or loved one in recovery or actively using. It’s a place to share support, wisdom, and perspective to help cope with the collateral effects of addiction.

 

Event: Nature Art for Preschoolers

Painting in The Meadow – In this program, designed for children ages 3-5, children will be introduced to a meadow habitat with its abundant plant and animal species and will create an outside “plein air” art project. Event: Women’s Nature Club: Wildlife Behavior

Date and Time: Saturday, May 4, 9:00 AM

Location: Smith’s Woods, 803 Smithville Road, Eastampton, NJ 08060

Join other women who are passionate and enthusiastic about the environment and experience the natural world in exciting ways! Meet once a month to learn about topics such as threatened and endangered species and social structures in the animal kingdom. During this session, learn all about the social behaviors of various wildlife families, including birds, squirrels, and deer.


Event: Clean Communities Park Litter Clean-up

Date and Time: Saturday, May 4, 9:00 AM

Location: Amico Island, 81 Norman Ave., Delran, NJ 08075

Volunteers are needed to help keep our environment clean and green! Participate in cleaning up litter that has made its way into this 55-acre peninsula that is full of ecological diversity. Individuals, groups, and organizations are welcome. Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided along with light refreshments and a water jug to refill your reusable water bottle. Event: Tails on the Trails Hike and Collection

Event: Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival

Date and Time: Saturday, May 4, 3-8 PM

Gather your friends and bring your appetite! Come out to the beautiful Burlington County Fairgrounds for its First Annual Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival. For your eating pleasure, there will be a variety of gourmet Food Trucks on hand from seafood to tacos and everything in between. For the beer and wine enthusiasts, local breweries will be serving up craft beers and local wines. There will be live music from the center stage featuring performances by the talented Billy Walton Band, followed by Goodman Fiske to continue the party. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Event: An Encore Presentation of a Tour of Iron Works Hill

Date and Time: Sunday, May 5, 10:00 AM

Location: Iron Works Hill

Join Parks Historian Eric Orange on a tour of Iron Works Hill in Mount Holly. Tour the site of the old Iron Works that was the center of the Battle of Iron Works Hill. The tour starts at the end of Wollner Drive at the canoe launch and ends in Saint Andrews Cemetery where we will pay our respects to two forgotten heroes of the American Revolution.


Event: Interpretive Trail Hike

Date and Time: Sunday, May 5, 1:30 PM

Location: Rancocas Nature Center, 794 Rancocas Road, Westampton Township, NJ 08060

Join a Rancocas Nature Center staff person or associate naturalist for an interpretive hike through our varied habitats. It’s a great way to become familiar with the trails. Bring a camera and/or binoculars as we’ll be sure to stop at scenic spots along the way. The easy pace is suitable for all ages, but you’ll need a child carrier to transport small children.

 

Event: Burlington County 2019 Teen Arts Exhibit

Date and Time: April 18 – June 2, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery, 803 Smithville Rd., Eastampton, NJ 08060

Visit Historic Smithville Park to see works by the talented teens of Burlington County. Schools throughout the region will be represented. This will be a great opportunity for students, families and the community to see the artwork in a gallery setting. Gallery hours: Thursday-Saturday 10-4; Sunday 12-4. Reception will be held April 27 at 1 PM.

 

Event: Art Exhibit, Emerging Artists, Dual Feature: Josh Toritto and Don Stephens

Date and Time: March 28 – May 5, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Warden’s House Gallery, 150 High St., Mt Holly, NJ 08060

Rotating exhibits featuring works by different artists will be presented at the Wardens House in historic downtown Mount Holly. Each artist will be featured for a six-week exhibit in order to highlight their outstanding work. Joshua is an artist who has received his education through the Perkins Center of the Arts. Don Stephens is what you might call a Figurative Expressive Artist. Earning his education through Tyler School of Arts, he is also in communicator in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Thursday-Saturday 10AM - 4PM; Sunday Noon - 4PM.

 

Event: Art Exhibit 2019 Teen Arts State Touring Exhibit

Date and Time: March 28 – May 5, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Worker’s House Gallery, 803 Smithville Rd., Eastampton, NJ 08060

This exhibit will include artwork deemed to be the best of the best created by students participating in the 2018 NJ Teen Arts Festivals. Teen Arts adjudicators selected these works from all of the entrants statewide. Come see works by budding young artists from our County and throughout the state. Gallery hours: Thursday-Saturday 10AM-4PM; Sunday 12PM-4PM.

 

Event: Hugh Campbell Collection Art Exhibit

Date and Time: March 1 - May 31, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Warden's House Gallery, 150 High St., Mt Holly, NJ 08060

MOUNT HOLLY IN THE MID-20TH CENTURY THROUGH THE EYES OF HUGH H. CAMPBELL - Hugh H. Campbell was a man of many talents. He expressly captured his own view of Mount Holly via his paintbrush. He was an artist, published author and philosopher who lived an extremely minimalistic life. Learn more about him and see select works from the Hugh H. Campbell Collection.
