Purpose
The Vocational Rehabilitation Program is intended to rehabilitate disabled veterans whose handicaps affect their ability to prepare for, obtain, and retain employment. It provides eligible veterans with job and job training intensive services program, employment placement service program and job training placement program administered by the Department of Labor.
Qualifications
A veteran with a service-connected disability rated at least 20% or more is potentially entitled to vocational rehabilitation benefits for a period of 12 years after establishing the qualifying disability. The Department of Veteran Affairs must make a determination that the veteran is in need of vocational rehabilitation to overcome an employment handicap.
Counseling
