2nd Annual Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival
May 2 - Join us for the 2nd Annual Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival at the beautiful County Fairgrounds! This festival will feature some of the best food trucks and cuisine in the area. Like craft beer? Local breweries will have all of their finest brews on tap. Live music on the main stage throughout the day. VIP perks available. Details will follow.
SMITHVILLE HISTORY FUN DAY
May 17 - The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders, in cooperation with the Friends of the Mansion at Smithville invite you to celebrate the opening the 2020 Smithville Mansion Tour season. During Smithville History Fun Day, enjoy an afternoon filled with music, children’s games and activities, local history, food, and craft vendors. Enjoy the music of the Golden Eagle Band, Libby Prison Minstrels, Sweet Adeline’s and much more. The Smithville Historian will be offering tours of the village. Along the way, you will see a display of bicycles of a by-gone era, presented by the New Jersey Wheelmen. Enjoy a carriage ride along Park Avenue. The centerpiece of the event is the Historic Smithville Mansion. Take a tour, offered for a nominal fee, hear the stories of its most colorful and innovative residents H.B. Smith and Agnes Gilkerson Smith and see how they lived. Free Admission and Parking.
JUNE ~ The Annual Earth Fair returns each year to Historic Smithville Park featuring vendors, entertainment for all ages, and kids’ activities with an environmental twist. This family event focuses on ways to protect and enjoy our environment. Children's activities include trash sculpting, paper making, storytelling, environmental vaudeville, face painting…and more. Be sure to check out the art exhibits in the Worker’s House & Gallery and the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery. This event features “Green” vendors, artists, crafters, activity providers and performers that have an earth-friendly theme.
ARTS IN THE PARK
SEPTEMBER ~ Arts in the Park Festival - Enjoy an eclectic mix of entertainment on three stages, including music, dance, theater and storytelling. Guests engage in free interactive activities, such as Chalk the Walk, Paint the Mural and Clothesline Art Workshop. Artists of all levels will have an opportunity to showcase their skills. The Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery is in the spotlight exhibiting the Annual Juried Art Exhibit. This event celebrates the arts with fine art vendors, artisan crafters, art-related activities, culinary arts, theater groups, live music, and poetry.
Scarecrows on Parade
Scarecrows will be displayed for the month of October. Join us for our Annual Scarecrows on Parade. Every year the Scarecrows are a huge hit with visitors to Smithville Park. We invite organizations, businesses, clubs and individuals to participate by creating their own family-friendly scarecrow. A small registration fee is required. This is a fun way to promote your organization or business. Cash prizes awarded.
A free, family float festival at Smithville Park! Canoe/Kayak on the Rancocas Creek or Smithville Lake and see the fall foliage as you float along. Residents decorate their docks and hope to win your vote as you float! Launching takes place at Historic Smithville Park. Paddlers will be shuttled back to Smithville Park for food, entertainment and activities for all ages. Enjoy the park on a fun-filled Autumn day! Victorian Holiday Celebration - Join us to kick off the Holiday Season at Historic Smithville Park. Festivities will include ice carving demonstrations, tours of Smithville Mansion decorated for the holidays, entertainment, kids’ activities, and a holiday marketplace where you can purchase unique gifts. Expect to see Victorian performers, activities, re-enactors and vendors during this holiday event. The Historic Smithville Mansion will be fully decorated and open for tours all afternoon. Carolers sing your holiday favorites throughout the park. Stop by for some s’mores and hot cocoa by the fire. Saint Nick arrives by horse-drawn carriage in the afternoon and will be greeting children all day. This event is the perfect photo opportunity for your holiday greeting cards!
